The trails do not clean themselves, and complaining about litter on Instagram has a poor track record.
Trail Guardians is deliberately unheroic: we walk a route we love, we carry sacks, and we come back with them full. It works because it is a trip first and a clean-up second — people show up for the walk and the work happens anyway.

You stop seeing a beautiful trail and start seeing the bottle behind the rock. Then you can't unsee it.
